Description |
Post-doctoral research assistant required for an initial period of three years to investigate the pathogenesis of Lagos bat virus in its natural host and to determine the infection dynamics of a range of potentially-zoonotic viruses in African bats. This is part of a multifaceted collaborative project on infection dynamics in bats with Professor Wood (University of Cambridge), Professor Fooks (Animal Health & Veterinary Laboratories Agency) and others.
The position will be based in Accra, Ghana, but the post-holder must be prepared to travel within Africa (and possibly elsewhere) and to spending periods of time in the UK.
The successful applicant must have at least three years’ post-doctoral research experience, be fluent and literate in English and have experience of conducting experimental infection studies and of publishing research papers.
