We have an exciting opportunity available for a permanent full-time Ecologist/Senior Ecologist to join our team!

About Greenlight Environmental Consultancy

Greenlight is an environmental consultancy based in East Anglia, we are centrally located in Diss to allow us to carry out our services across the region.

Our environmental consultancy services include a range of ecology, landscape and arboricultural surveys. As advocates for the planet we are also dedicated to conservation, our efforts include carbon balanced offsetting, conservation charity volunteering and monitoring animal populations.

Our team is small but knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate about what we do. To ensure we are constantly developing our skills and that we remain at the forefront of scientific research into ecology-related issues, Greenlight regularly invests in external training courses and research materials.

We also ensure that our team is always using the latest, cutting-edge technology for all our surveys and services – Including bat detectors, analysis software, mapping tools, survey equipment, high specification photography and design software.

Ecologist/Senior Ecologist Job Overview

Position: Permanent Full-time Ecologist/Senior Ecologist

Salary: £25k-35k depending on experience and licences held

Location: East Anglia, Suffolk desirable

Requirements: 

  • Degree
  • Bat licence level 1 (level 2 desirable)
  • GCN licence level 1 (level 2 desirable)
  • 2+ years’ experience in the ecology sector including undertaking PEA, PRA and protected species surveys
  • Full driving licence

Key roles:

  • Managing projects from inception to completion
  • Conducting surveys
  • Report writing
  • Designing and implementing mitigation schemes
  • Mentoring junior staff
