Background:

A combination of rising energy prices, poor energy efficiency and cold temperatures has proven a challenge for millions of householders nationwide. Through a shared desire to eradicate fuel poverty, Change Agents UK and National Energy Action (NEA) have recently united to create a dynamic and exciting new graduate placement scheme. This scheme will deliver much-needed fuel poverty projects across multiple UK locations, each with the overarching aim of working directly with householders to help them reduce and manage their energy usage. Based within local authorities, this unique partnership and network will deliver a graduate placement scheme with a difference. Successful candidates will benefit from a week’s residential training programme that includes NEA’s City & Guilds qualification in Energy Awareness, workshops that include principles of project management, as well as on-going support facilitated through Change Agents UK. Due to the fast-changing nature of these projects we are inviting applications by regions. Please register your interest in this position if you would like to be considered for positions in the North of England. Please ensure that you are available for our interview days between the 5th- 16th November.

Objective:

Working closely with the local authority, local stakeholders and organisations, these projects aim to tackle fuel poverty at a local level. To provide a measurable impact on the households visited, the cost saving measures identified to every householder should reduce bills by 10% or more. More widely, a communications campaign aims to raise the profile of energy issues and fuel poverty across the local area.
