Job Desciption

The Post holder is responsible for running riding lessons as required by the Riding Centre Manager, preparing horses for lessons and covering yard duties as required. They will be a qualified BHSAI or equivilant, and have experience working with disabled clients.

Key Responsibilities

n  To interact with both disabled and able-bodied riders and Volunteers.

n   To run riding lessons with safety of both the horses and riders being of paramount importance.

n  Teach able bodied and disabled clients

n  To provide good customer care to riders and general public and other stake holders

n  Supervise, support and train other staff and volunteers

n  To Implement all Health and Safety procedures and report Health and Safety concerns to the line manager

n  To assist with organising and running special events at the farm or other locations

n  To cover yard duties as required

n  To perform any other tasks reasonably requested by the Riding Centre Manager or Farm Manager

n  To exercise and school the school horses

n  To comply with the arrangements made to deliver services in accordance with the Vauxhall City Farms Equal Opportunities Policy.

n  To adhere to all health and safety instructions and not to do anything that might endanger themselves or others; to report to their line manager any dangerous situations in the work place or any shortcomings in health and safety arrangements that they perceive.

Special Conditions

It is a requirement there is no smoking in the workplace.

Ths position may involve contact with young people. The postholder will therefore be subject to a criminal records bureau clearance on appointment and on an appropriate review basis thereafter.

The post holder can expect to undertake work in the evenings and weekends on a regular basis.
