Asia’s last ancient forest the home of orangutans and the critical endangered Sumatra tiger is at stake. In the last half century, over 74 million hectares of Indonesian rainforest – equivalent to an area twice the size of Germany – have been logged, burned, or degraded.

Most of these last Asian ancient forest ends up as tissue, copy paper or as packaging material around the world and also in Taiwan. Multinational and Taiwan corporations can and have to play a leading role to help protect Indonesian forest by stopping the use or sale of paper and packaging material from Indonesian ancient forest. 

Greenpeace is looking for a corporate campaigner whose major responsibility is to provide leadership and program expertise with respect to our forest campaign and analyze new developments in support of campaign objectives and goals. Also, he/she needs to develop and implement effective campaign plans and strategies to draw attention to ecological abuse. This person should also maintain an active liaison with potential and established allied groups and coalition partners. He/she will respond to public inquiries about campaign issues and other matters.

Major requirements for this position are:

  • Degree holder in Social Science, Environmental Science or related disciplines with 2 years of work experience (preferably in NGOs, media, social or environmental movements);
  • Good knowledge of the environmental, socio-political and cultural situations of Asia including but not limited to Taiwan;
  • Strong passion on environmental protection, especially on forest;
  • Outstanding personal and public communication skills; Good analytical and strategic thinking skills;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Mandarin;
