ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Manage and supervise a wide array of forest management issues and activities on TNC owned and privately owned lands.  Coordinate and manage working forest conservation easements on private lands in the Current River watershed and surrounding areas of the Missouri Ozarks.  Principal duties include conducting phase one environmental assessments, completing baseline documentation of forest property conditions, carrying out recurring compliance monitoring, reviewing forest management plans, advising landowners of management options and needs, and assisting with marketing and protection of forest lands.  Regular tasks will include collecting field data to document forest conditions, creating maps and well-written summary documents, using digital cameras and GPS equipment, and working with private landowners to secure appropriate forest land conservation. 
• Provide technical support in GIS or other relational database technologies to Conservancy staff.  Includes producing maps in support of statewide conservation, protection, and fundraising activities; processing spatial and/or relational data sets derived from cartographic and tabular source material; performing data analysis and producing reports; providing hardware and software support; and developing and delivering GIS training to staff.
• Additional work may include assisting with conservation planning, land management, and media and other duties as assigned to advance biodiversity conservation goals.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in forestry (strongly preferred), natural resources management, biology or related field and one year related work experience.
• Demonstrated experience with developing and managing forestry operations. 
• Demonstrated experience using GIS software to produce maps and other special data products and reports.
• Experience coordinating multiple projects and timeframes.
• Experience managing, maintaining, and populating databases and manual files.
• Experience in analyzing data and producing written reports.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and web browsers.
ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s degree in forestry (strongly preferred), natural resources management, biology or related field and one year related work experience.
• Experience with forest ecology and forest management practices that incorporate biological diversity goals.  Experience with forest certifications, sustainable forestry practices, forest economics, reforestation and silvicultural practices preferred.
• Demonstrated experience operating GIS software, including ability to utilize data to create maps and/or manage other relational databases.
• Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and database applications.
• Demonstrated proficiency at analyzing, manipulating and interpreting data.
• Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to obtain directed outcomes when engaging with a wide variety of people in diverse situations.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Completing tasks independently to meet specific timelines.
• Fluency with navigating and working in remote wooded landscapes, including the ability to navigate with GPS, aerial photographs, and map and compass.
• Valid US drivers license and safe driving record are required to operate Conservancy-owned vehicles to perform job duties.
