Find out more at www.forest-surveys.co.uk. Job Description We are seeking a permanent Forest Surveyor to join our experienced team. You’ll play a key role in delivering forest survey projects from fieldwork to data reporting, working closely with both internal colleagues and external clients. This is a hands-on role requiring a deep understanding of forestry operations, mensuration, and forest planning processes. You will be expected to work in a variety of woodland types across the UK, often in challenging conditions, gathering data critical to sustainable woodland management. Strong organisational skills, a good grasp of survey methodologies, and a proactive, independent approach are essential. Key Work Areas Undertake and deliver high-quality forest survey fieldwork across the UK. Manage project planning, including personnel, logistics, H&S, and reporting. Promote survey capabilities internally and externally. Prepare bids for surveying contracts and liaise with stakeholders. Perform quality checks and submit accurate field data. Input GIS data and support mapping tasks (where applicable). Provide training and support to colleagues and partner organisations. Uphold health, safety, and environmental standards at all times. Use and maintain technical equipment for accurate forest measurements. Support the wider Surveying & Forestry management team as needed. The post holder must be prepared to work up to 10-hour days in remote, physically challenging environments and regularly stay away from home for periods of up to two weeks.
