Description

This is a full time, permanent post of 37 hours per week. The successful candidate will be appointed within the SEO Grade salary range of £35,895 to £40,613.

This is a crucial moment in the development of both the National Forest and the National Forest Company, with a new 25-Year Vision for the National Forest, a new Corporate Plan for the Company, and a renewed focus and purpose in light of the urgency of climate change. 200 square miles, three decades, 9 million trees planted, and forest cover having increased from 6% to 22% - we have a track record of making things happen. The National Forest is one of the boldest environmentally led regeneration initiatives in the country, and we are now looking to expand our team to put us on track to meet 33% forest cover by 2045. We believe trees are the catalyst for change, enabling nature, society, and the economy to thrive by working together. We believe a positive future is possible – and we can show it’s happening, here and now.

We are now seeking a committed and experienced individual to drive forward the delivery of our ambitious forest creation targets through developing strong and effective relationships with an extensive network of landowners, farmers and local authorities within the National Forest. You will be responsible for targeted promotion of our financial incentives to deliver maximum environmental, public and economic benefits for landowners, businesses and communities. This will include providing expert forestry advice on the types of tree planting that will meet landowner long-term aspirations, as well as helping to mitigate and adapt to climate change, enhance biodiversity and create resilient woodlands for the long term.

Working within a dynamic team this role will oversee the whole forest creation process on third party sites from initial engagement, advice on site design, appraisal and approval of schemes, and ongoing liaison with landowners to ensure contractual obligations are adhered to.
