Looking for an opportunity to work in a unique tropical country? Do you like the sound of living on a tropical island with secluded beaches and forests to explore? Experience life in far out places with likeminded people? Madagascar Research and Conservation are currently seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team. The Madagascar Research and Conservation Institute (MRCI) base on Nosy Komba, (Lemur island) Madagascar. MRCI is a government approved institute undertaking environmental research for and on behalf of the Malagasy Government and our partners. The main responsibility of this position is to collect important research data and manage volunteers.You will collect data on the species on Nosy Komba to then form an ID key, especially for this island. Duties will also include setting up traps for small mammals and reptiles. This is in Mountainous terrain and can be very strenuous, especially in the heat. You will:
We ask for the intern to commit to a minimum of 6months. It is non-paid but there is the possibility to be considered for a paid position after 6 months depending on performance.
