Footpath Project Officer (3 year contract)

The John Muir Trust is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic footpath project officer to run an exciting new project. The project aims to develop a coordinated management programme for over 60km of footpaths across Trust properties - from woodland walks and coastal trails to access paths for the seven Munros and five Corbetts in our care. 

The aim of the project is for minimal impact sensitive management of paths to ensure they are in good repair, providing access to hill walkers and others who seek to engage with the wild places we protect.

Applicants must have a proven commitment to the conservation of wild places and wildlife and knowledge and experience of footpath surveying, monitoring and sensitive upland path repair and construction methods. Applicants must also have proven experience in training, staff, contractors and volunteers in footpath techniques.

Job description: Path Project Officer

Salary: circa £23,000 - £27,000
Location: Either home-based (reporting to Pitlochry office) or Pitlochry
