Food For Life Partnership Local Programme Officer - LincolnshireClosing date: Sunday, March 30, 2014 The Food for Life Partnership is a national programme working with over 4,500 schools in England to transform their food culture. Following five years of full grant funding, the programme is now being commissioned by Local Authorities to address health and wellbeing priorities in their areas. The Partnership is led by the Soil Association, bringing together the practical expertise of Focus on Food, Garden Organic, the Health Education Trust and the Royal Society for Public Health. The Food for Life Partnership (FFLP) has been commissioned by Public Health Lincolnshire since 2012 to support all schools in the County with a food and health programme of engagement and delivery in schools and their communities. We are now looking for a locally based schools engagement officer to work directly with schools to improve their knowledge and consumption of healthy and sustainable food, act as a point of contact regarding the FFLP programme for schools and support schools in working towards their FFLP awards. Reporting to the FFLP Local Programme Manager for Lincolnshire (click here for more details), you will help identify and engage participating schools, support organisation and school participation in events, activities and training. You will have considerable experience engaging and working with schools, both senior management and teaching staff, as well as pupils and parents. A good knowledge of and passion for sustainable food and health issues is essential. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, and be experienced in presenting to groups and public speaking, as well as confident in communicating through a variety of social media. This is a new post in Lincolnshire, full time for school term time only, starting immediately. Our current commission runs until 31st March 2015, funding dependent there is potential for a 12-month extension until March 2016. The post will be based from your home in Lincolnshire, with considerable travel to schools across Lincolnshire, so own transport is important.
