Food Business Manager - EU

Salary: £33K - £38K (dependent on experience)

Compassion in World Farming is the leading international farm animal welfare charity. Our goal is to put farm animal welfare at the heart of the food industry. We are recognised as the credible partner, on all animal welfare standards and policies, to the major food retailers, food service companies and manufacturers.

The right candidate will be an experienced project leader who will help shape, define and implement a strategy to integrate animal welfare into the EU food businesses sustainable food supply chain. You will be responsible for establishing and developing networks and partnerships with leading EU based food companies, in particular targeting the top EU food retailers, in order to deliver higher farm animal welfare standards and food choices within food businesses and the wider market.

You will be bilingual and fluent English and German to a business level (other EU languages will be considered and are a distinct advantage). You will have account management experience and be an excellent communicator, with experience in marketing and/or sales in order to provide a compelling case to engage with food retailers, food service companies and manufacturers. You will promote the value of improved farm animal welfare polices and practice and promote support for key Compassion campaigns and programmes throughout the EU.

The right candidate will have a track record of building strong commercial relationships and be approachable, adaptable and have a positive disposition that inspires confidence. Ideally a track record of managing a Sustainability/Corporate Responsibility programme within the retail and/or food and/or ethical supply chain sector or a strong track record of managing NGO programmes and campaigns to commercial organisations.
