The FPM, in consultation with the Head Biodiversity is responsible for the development and implementation of Wetlands Internationals Flyway work in and delivering this work into the Shell-Wetlands International Partnership, profiling Wetlands International as THE waterbird flyway authority, worldwide. Reporting to: Head Biodiversity and Ecological NetworksFull-time position: 36 hours per weekBased in: Wageningen office, NetherlandsGrade: Scale 12-13, range € 3142 - 5286Working relationships include:INSIDE Wetlands International:Head Biodiversity, Corporate Relationships Manager, Global Biodiversity Team, Wageningen Biodiversity Team, Shell Team, and Heads of Office from global network OUTSIDE Wetlands International:Flyway partners, Shell, Global Convention (secretariats), National Governments, Conservation NGO’s, Shell partners OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:The Wetlands International Flyway Programme Manager (FPM) reports to the Head Biodiversity and Ecological Networks and works closely with Biodiversity team staff worldwide and Heads of Offices. Important representation function if it comes to advocating and implementing flyway work. The FPM, in consultation with the Head Biodiversity is responsible for the development and implementation of Wetlands Internationals Flyway work in and delivering this work into the Shell-Wetlands International Partnership, profiling Wetlands International as THE waterbird flyway authority, worldwide. Main Duties
ProfileThe successful candidate is a networker with excellent understanding of international collaboration in the field of waterbird and wetland conservation and the flyway issue. Communicative and articulate, he/she is well able to profile Wetlands International as the authority in flyway thinking and implementation, especially for waterbirds. Science based approach with good knowledge of waterbird and wetland science and strong interest in international conservation and sustainable development and the links between them. Strong network of contacts of relevant individuals, institutions, governments and (inter)national organisations. Team-player. Inter-cultural sensitivity. Excellent representational skills and excellent communication skills both verbally (presentations, chairing meetings etc) and written. Proven project management and reporting skills. The ideal candidate will have strong creative and problem-solving skills and an ability to stimulate, engage and facilitate group processes and stimulate engagement in international collaboration. Sensitive to budget constraints and an open eye for funding opportunities. He or she will have an understanding of NGO culture and ways of operation. Qualifications and Experience
