Description

Inland Fisheries Ireland is the state agency responsible for the protection, management and conservation of Ireland's inland fisheries and sea angling resources.

We are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Fisheries Environmental Officer to be located in our Clonmel base. In this role you will be responsible for advising and liaising with senior management on the design and implementation of environmental programmes, undertaking inspections, sampling and analysis of water / effluent and investigating actual and potential sources of pollution in fish-bearing waters.

To qualify for this position, candidates need to have a a relevant degree, eg. Aquatic Biology, Water Chemistry, Environmental Science or equivalent, a full driving licence and previous relevant experience.

Tenure: This role is offered on a permanent basis. The salary scale for the post is at Environment Officer grade (01.09.19):

€34,492, €36,814, €38,209, €39,924, €41,655, €44,937, €47,638, €50,333, €53,009, €54,718 (LSI1)

Candidates should note that salary will not be subject to negotiation and the rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy.  New entrants to the public sector will start on point 1 subject to Haddington Road Agreement and subsequent Government Agreements.
