Description

Fisheries Biologist

Reference number: A0570514

Location: Tristan da Cunha, South Atlantic Ocean

The RSPB is looking for an experienced and motivated fisheries biologist to help guide the establishment of systems to monitor rock lobster stocks around the Tristan da Cunha islands in the South Atlantic. This is an exciting opportunity to work on an MSC certified fishery in one of the world's most remote and pristine marine areas. Working with local divers and the local fisheries team, you will help to establish methods to enable the community to manage their fishery more effectively. Ideally, you will have worked in a rock lobster fishery elsewhere in the world and will be excited by the idea of applying your expertise in a new setting. Please note that the post will involve diving in an extremely remote environment with no air access.
