Requirements
Currently our Environmental Unit is recruiting for a Senior Fisheries Biologist to join our team at our office in either Hamilton, St. Catharines/Thorold, Cambridge, Mississauga or Sudbury, ON.

Responsibilities:
• Intermediate role in provision of services in AMEC’s fisheries, wildlife, biological sciences and environmental assessment consulting business in Ontario.
• Proposal writing, cost estimating, project management and client liaison
• Supervision, mentorship, and training of junior staff
• Field assessment of aquatic and terrestrial environments in urban and remote locations.
• Preparation of technical reports for clients and regulatory agencies
• Environmental monitoring for a variety of projects
• Preparation of mitigation, compensation and restoration plans
• Opportunity to collaborate with other AMEC offices and staff on a wide variety of projects throughout Canada

Knowledge/Experience:
• M.Sc. in a relevant field, with preference given to a strong fisheries/benthic invertebrate sciences background or aquatic ecology.
• 5+ years directly applicable experience in aquatic and terrestrial assessment projects.
• Familiar with environmental impact assessment, permit and approval processes in Ontario and Canada
• Familiar with large scale infrastructure development projects
• Experience in environmental monitoring and environmental effects monitoring under MMER or PPER
• Strong written and oral communication (English) skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be well organized, have the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time, deliver on time and on budget
• Strong project management skills
