Financial Controller

We have over 300 employees and an annual turnover in excess of £55m.  This role will be based in our office in Godalming, Surrey but we will be moving to a new and exciting sustainably built office in Woking in 2013.

We need a Financial Controller who will be responsible for:
 

• Managing, leading, motivating and developing the Financial Accounting team responsible for our Treasury, Sales Ledger and Accounts Payable functions.
• Supporting the Head of Finance in the development and implementation of Finance strategy in alignment with the five year strategic plan
• The production of the statutory accounts, collation and review of the audit information and liaising with the auditors
• Ensuring that cash reserves and foreign currency exposure are managed in accordance with the Treasury Management Policy
• VAT and company tax returns ensuring compliance with regulations while maximising recovery
• Regularly reviewing and updating financial systems, procedures and processes
• Deputising for the Head of Finance and assisting them with high level strategic projects from time to time

You will be a fully qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills and strong communication skills, both written and verbal. You will be an experienced people manager and have experience of managing finance projects. You will be used to working under pressure and to deadlines. Previous charity  experience would be beneficial but isn’t essential.  A strong affinity with WWF’s mission would be an advantage.
