CDP Europe is seeking a Finance Manager to work closely with our Managing Director and small management team to support their plans for growth and influence. You will have responsibility for finance, HR and legal and will report directly to the Managing Director with a line of functional responsibility to the CDP Director Policy and Reporting as well as Group Financial Controller based in London. The position offers an excellent opportunity for the right candidate who can demonstrate ability to take responsibility and willingness to add value to all areas of the business.
The Finance Manager will be based in CDP offices in Berlin.
Key responsibilities
- Direct responsibility for a part time finance position;
- Business planning and budgeting;
- Regular financial reporting, including to CDP Group, as required;
- Budgeting for funding proposals and reporting to grantors;
- Process Management for contracts and invoicing;
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements;
- Ensuring that all financial records are accurate and up to date;
- Year end accounts and liaison with auditors;
- Advice on commercial contracts;
- All aspects of HR, including payroll, pensions, healthcare, employment law;
- Office management; and
- Close attention to detail.
Key requirements
- An understanding of the work of CDP and a belief in our aims;
- At least 3 years senior financial experience in a small/medium NGO or commercial entities or as a manager in an accounting firm;
- A recognised accountancy qualification or current progress towards a qualification;
- The ability to reconcile the delivery of our charitable aims with the commercial disciplines necessary to fund our growth;
- Highly refined analytical skills;
- Good IT skills; and
- Fluent spoken and written English and German.
