An opportunity has been created within our Engineering and Field Operations team for a Field Technician to play a key role in our scientific research endeavours.  The successful applicant will operate, deploy and maintain remote observing equipment in support of scientific and technological research in field and laboratory environments.  You will also have the ability and opportunity to be involved in the design and creation of such instrumentation. 

 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a world leading organisation with attractive working conditions including a 9-day fortnight, generous leave entitlements, commuter car transportation to site, a salary range of $61,056 - $68,797 and 15.4% superannuation.  This role will be offered as a permanent position.  

 

About You

You will be an experienced field technician and be able to demonstrate:

  • Trade qualifications in electronics, instrumentation, mechanical engineering or a related field;
  • Experience with logistics, planning and scheduling of field work activities in remote locations;
  • The ability to work at sea in demanding conditions for extended periods;
  • Technical and Field report writing skills; and
  • Recreational/Commercial Ship Masters Licence and Radio Operators Licence.
