Description

PECI is seeking a self-motivated Field Services Representative II to provide outreach for residential energy-efficiency program measures including appliances, lighting, weatherization, and HVAC in the Utah market. This position located in the Salt Lake City area will conduct rotational site visits and outreach events to train and educate retail staff and contractors on program measures and requirements, build program awareness, identify barriers to participation and implement mitigating strategies.

The Field Services Representative II will work from a home office and coordinate with a team in the Portland, OR office. Extensive travel throughout Utah is required. Some weekend work is required to staff program outreach events. Mileage will be reimbursed at a set rate per mile. 

The ideal candidate will have a background in sales, merchandising, retail, contractor outreach, business development as well as a passion for energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs outreach to retailers, contractors and consumers on a consistent site visit rotation schedule
  • Engages with retail and contractor businesses to discuss and promote opportunities for program integration into their business
  • Trains/educates retail personnel, contractors, and consumers on program measures and requirements
  • Ensures participating retailers have properly placed point of purchase materials, adequate inventory and accurate pricing of qualified products
  • Supports both channel teams (Retailer and Contractor), by providing real-time data with regard to trends and forecast information
  • Develops an energy efficiency network (contractor and stakeholder) to support over-all network growth and understanding of cost-effective savings acquisition
  • Establishes relationships with utilities, local government agencies and other third party stakeholders
  • Seeks additional channels to reach consumers
  • Significantly increases the programs existing contractor network
  • Participates in retailer, contractor or consumer outreach events and educates on program measures and incentives
  • Keeps an accurate record of outreach site visits and events
  • Travels to territories outside of Utah as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, merchandising, retail, contractor outreach or account management is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Clean driving record, reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance is required
  • Experience in identifying appropriate market contacts and initiating relationships
  • Familiarity with or the ability to quickly learn new technologies and effectively communicate their benefits
  • Strong local ties to the community
  • Self-starter with the ability to operate autonomously
  • Ability to learn and share details regarding efficiency equipment and services
  • Ability to analyze and report market trends
  • Ability to identify and discuss strategies for business development
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think globally while engaging on a tactical level
  • Adept at presenting and communicating to various sized audiences
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated commitment to energy efficiency

Physical Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout a defined territory
  • Able to drive/sit in car for moderate to long distances
  • Climb up and down ladders of all types and heights in and out of doors
  • Lift, move, and otherwise maneuver physical objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Do all of the above while always using safe working practices
