PECI is seeking a Field Manager to work in the San Francisco Area and join the team leading PECI’s Light Commercial HVAC energy efficiency team to deploy an innovative, new program designed to transform the HVAC market. The Field Manager will guide and mentor Program field staff to ensure that staff meets performance goals and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partners with Regional Field Manager, Program Managers/Associate Directors, Senior Program Managers and Program Managers to ensure customer/contractor satisfaction and retention.
  • Track results of the Field Staff to performance objectives and regularly communicate this performance to Program Managers/Associate Directors and Regional Field Manager.
  • Partners with Program Managers/Associate Directors/Regional Field Manager to recruit and train field staff.
  • Partner with field staff to facilitate key customer outreach events to educate customers on program incentives.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all field staff utilize comprehensive project tracking and project management skills which includes, but is not limited to, the following: managing contractors, vendors and manufacturers to program goals.
  • Performs basic and advanced energy efficiency auditing of buildings/facilities to verify that work completed by enrolled contractors is in accordance with Program terms and conditions.
  • Provides technical consultations to building/facility operators/owners and Contractors.
  • Performs site verifications evaluating and inspecting basic and advanced measures. This includes conducting quality control audits and sign-off of customer/contractor work.
  • Provides technician support in regards to completion of Program energy efficiency measures.
  • Leads and implements a wide variety of technical training to include: internal technical training, operational training, and contractor training. Frequently facilitates training sessions.
  • Supports the development of field processes and protocols. This includes, but is not limited to: checklists, auditing templates, and inspection protocols.
  • Contractor account management to facilitate the Contractor’s Program activity and their integration of the Program’s diagnostic tools into the Contractor’s business model.
  • Contributes technical knowledge to the development of contractor quality control standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This role manages a small team over the San Francisco area. Responsible for the coordination and evaluation of staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in energy efficiency, technology, engineering, operations or business management with 2 or more years of experience managing field service and/or field sales teams to goals.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong team leadership and development skills with an ability to coach staff to meet program and/or sales objectives.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time.
  • Must reside within region of focus.
  • Ability to assimilate technical information and knowledge.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a suitable vehicle that will not only transport the person to a customer’s location, but also occasionally large pieces of technical equipment.

The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.
