Description

This project seeks highly motivated students to participate in a carnivore research program for 8 weeks in June-August, 2014  (closing date: 1 December, 2013). Students will participate in on-going research on African carnivores, and participate in a short course on science writing, in the Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya. There are 3 projects that will be available next summer for participation: (1) vocal signalling in a social mammal; (2) spotted hyenas and ecosystem health and (3) mediation and development of aggressive behaviour in the spotted hyena.

All expenses are covered by the project (airline tickets, room, board, evacuation insurance, Kenyan visa, etc.). Students will also receive a stipend of US$2500.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

A full project description, including the application instructions, is given within the member's area of the Volunteer for Africa website. Visit our website and facebook page to view other free volunteering in Africa opportunities.
