Required candidates' profile
Qualifications Graduate / Post-graduate in wildlife sciences / wildlife biology / biological sciences. A candidate interested in pursuing his / her doctoral work on tigers / tiger conservation in the landscape will be preferred.
Work experience 1-2 years of field experience
Job responsibilities:
- Field work for estimation of tiger and prey population densities using capture-recapture and distance sampling methodologies
- Other conservation action related work in project site
- Working closely with concerned Forest department staff
- Design and analysis of field based studies
- Report writing
Skills:
- Familiarity with sign surveys for carnivores and vegetation sampling
- Candidates should be familiar with theory of sampling, population estimation and basic statistics
- Familiarity with GIS and population estimation software such as MARK, CAPTURE, PRESENCE etc.
- Good written communication in English
