Bush Heritage Australia is a leading conservation organisation, protecting our unique plants and animals and the habitats they rely on. In 25 years our work has protected an estimated 165 species of native animals and plants from potential extinction. 

Bon Bon Station Reserve is a leading conservation reserve that demonstrates the value of collaboration and partnerships that drive landscape-scale conservation, traditional owner alliances, scientific research, and meaningful community engagement. 

Bon Bon Station Reserve is 217,000ha and located in the North West Pastoral District of South Australia approx. 190 km south of Coober Pedy. The property straddles the boundary of the Gawler and Stony Plains IBRA Regions and is home to nine key landsystems of the Kingoonya district. 

The Field Officer primarily works with the Bettong Translocation Team to ensure that day to day management activities of the Bettong Translocation Project meet the key deliverables of the approved grant and associated funding guidelines. The Field Officer works in collaboration with Bon Bon Station Reserve management staff, non-reserve based staff, contractors, students, volunteers, and staff at Arid Recovery (Roxby Downs) to contribute to the successful implementation and management of this exciting project. Whilst the incumbent ultimately reports to the Healthy Landscapes Manager – SA/Vic, guidance and direction will also be provided by the Bon Bon Station Reserve Management Team and Arid Recovery Regional Ecologist. 

This position works a three weeks on / one week off roster where the average weekly hours over a four week period will not exceed 38hrs. Accommodation in a self-contained cottage is provided, as well as a vehicle, tools and equipment necessary for undertaking this role.
