he Field Management Coordinator is responsible for supporting the operations of the international FM department. The coordinator will work with EW Program Managers to ensure a high level of stewardship for EW Scientists, and to assist the department in activities that create a culture of safety within our organization.

This is a full-time position.

Core Responsibilities:

The Coordinator is responsible for the following:

  • Managing volunteer forms process, reviewing forms, and  transmitting team member information to EW Scientists
  • Liaising with the EW Volunteer Programs and Engagement departments, and other staff as needed, in all international EW offices, to ensure the proper screening, tracking and dissemination of all volunteer forms
  • Conducting medical screening of team members through the review of required health and personal information forms
  • Liaising with medical professionals if necessary
  • Collating and coordinating project feedback and transmitting this to EW Scientists
  • Apprising researchers of team fill status and providing team lists on a regular basis
  • Maintaining up-to-date contact and database information
  • Weekly updating of Incident Management Team Duty Officer Rota and critical files
  • Managing allocation of department equipment such as satellite phones, field gear, etc.
  • Assisting Program Managers with development and updating of risk management materials
  • Coordinating annual contract process with EW Scientists
  • Assisting with production process for EW Project Briefing documents
  • Participating as a member of the EW Incident Management Team, including the Duty Officer Roster
  • Supporting the hiring, management, and training of EW Teen and Family Team Facilitators
  • Assisting Program Managers with stewardship of EW Scientists and partner organizations
  • Supporting EW Scientist training events for EW staff and Scientists
  • Conducting field assessments to EW projects on an as-needed basis

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, conservation, science education, or related field preferred
  • International travel experience required
  • Experience supporting international programs preferred
  • Ability to work well under pressure, independently and with initiative
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in using MS Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Experience managing grants and funder relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team in a collegial setting
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Highly organized, with exceptional project and time management skills
  • Cross-cultural competency
  • Ability to think strategically, and solve problems creatively
  • Willingness to travel 2-4 weeks per year
  • First aid training preferred, other medical  training a plus
  • Knowledge of language/languages other than English a plus
  • Background of field leadership or field research experience a plus

Salary:  30-33K Good benefits package.
