Description

The British Antarctic Survey (BAS), part of the Natural Environment Research Council, aims to undertake a world-class programme of scientific research, and to sustain for the UK an active and influential regional presence and a leadership role in Antarctic affairs. 

The Field Diving Officer (FDO) is a wintering post at Rothera Research Station to undertake diving in support of science. The FDO is responsible for the supervision and organisation of all diving activities at and out of Rothera Station. All requests for diving are made through the FDO and the FDO must be present on site whenever a dive takes place.

Qualifications: HSE Scuba (or HSE approved equivalent)

Duration: 18 months

Salary: £23,700
