My client is a leading vertically integrated solar product manufacturing and turnkey solar system solution providers across the globe.
Position Overview:
My client is seeking an experienced Field Application Technician to serve as a technical source for customers as well as balance-of-system providers.
Responsibilities:
- Train their customers’ technicians in the design, installation and operation of plants utilizing my clients panels
- Evaluate customers’ system designs and provide customer feedback into my clients System Architecture Program
- Collect, evaluate and transfer data from data logging equipment into an internal database
- Visit sites and inspect panels, racking, and inverters for signs of physical damage and/or any changes
- Visit, evaluate and assess customers installations regarding quality of installation and the adherence to my clients Mounting guidelines
- Provide feedback from customers and make recommendations to improvements.
- Install and remove solar panels and associated equipment such as racking, inverters, monitoring and data logging at customer sites
- Perform in field measurements of panels, and on-site investigation and replacement of visual or electrical failures and provide feedback internally as necessary
Education:-
- Degree in electrical engineering (Dipl.-Ing. FH) or practical equivalent (e.g. Techniker / Meister or highly motivated individuals with bachelor-degree (Berufsabschluss-Elektrotechnik)
Core Requirements:
- Good command of PV-Syst and PV-Sol and other modeling software
- Experience in electronics or electrical trades and two years of solar PV experience
- Hands on experience with thin-film PV, inverters, and solar system design / installation
- Knowledge of European industry standards affecting system designs (e.g., UL and IEC certification requirements, TÜV)
General Requirements:-
- · Ability to manage multiple projects in an environment of constantly changing priorities
- · Ability to analyze and solve complex problems and detecting realistic solutions
- · Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time both in Germany and Internationally. Driving license
- · General familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
- · Team player, good natured, willing to learn and open minded
- · Native German speaker with excellent written and spoken English
- Preferred: International experience. Spanish, Italian or French language skills would be an advantage
Key Skills:-
Solar PV, technical understanding, after-sales experience, solar product (wafers, ingots, modules and/or inveters) experience, Degree in electrical engineering, Hands on experience with thin-film PV, inverters, and solar system design / installation and Knowledge of European industry standards affecting system designs
