Federal Sales Representative-San Luis Obispo, CA
The Federal Sales Representative will direct federal sector bid responses through multiple federal procurement vehicles. Bid responses will involve customer relationship management, RFI/RFQ responses, job walks, final proposal responses and all necessary post response customer follow-up.
Responsibilities:
· Work within cross-functional organization to develop federal projects from proposal creation through contract execution;
· Develop relationships with partners and customers that allow REC Solar to be notified in a timely way of new project opportunities;
· Perform site evaluations with technical engineering support;
· Establish relationship with customers during bidding process, and maintain throughout life of the project and beyond;
· Ensure that all standards of design, installation and contract performance unique to a project are communicated to the executive, administrative, engineering and construction groups;
· Develop a project opportunity network with targeted sub-channels via direct and indirect methods;
· Evaluate impact of various federal compliance requirements upon projects to assure successful project development;
· Continuously monitor agency initiatives and funding for upcoming project opportunities.
Requirements:
· Bachelors degree in Business or Engineering field, MBA preferred;
· Experience selling products/services in excess of $1 MM to public agencies through the Federal Contract process;
· Excellent communication skills, including ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders within the organization and the ability to build trust and rapport with customers;
· Ability to understand, develop and negotiate complex financial contract documents and to assess, brief and make recommendations for how to profitably execute projects;
· First-hand knowledge of federal contracting process, approval and administration; Formal Federal Contracting training is a plus;
· Familiarity with FAR, DFAR and other procurement regulations;
· Experience in navigating federal governmental organizations to reach key decision makers;
· Formal military leadership training preferred. Exceptional private sector leadership experience will also be considered in lieu of military experience;
· Proposal and construction project development experience and the ability to communicate compliance with multiple federal regulations;
· Comfort working in an extremely fast-paced, cross-functional setting, with proven ability to take initiative in an environment of constant change.
· Valid Driver’s license;
· Acceptable driving record, background check and clean drug test.
