Summary 
We are seeking an experienced sales professional to help implement strategies and tactics necessary to develop solar power plant projects for key Federal DoD sites and other Federal Agencies. The Project Developer is responsible for working with base command, director level and other designated points of contact to formulate proposals and develop project sites for photovoltaic systems. We are looking for a team player with proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment. The candidate should be self-motivated and self-directed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. This position will be responsible for supporting all facets of Federal sales including but not limited to: 

Direct Sales 
• Assist in generating comprehensive proposals based on client specifications, site conditions, policy considerations, competitive landscape, and strategies provided by members of the SunPower’s Systems Federal Sales Team. 
• Creating proposal content under the guidance of the Sales Team 
• Supporting the achievement of aggressive sales goals 
• Researching target accounts across states with and without incentives to develop value proposition 
• Streamlining, standardizing and improving the proposal development process, customizing documents to be used in proposing to Federal accounts 
• Supporting compliance with regulatory processes and Federal Procurement procedures necessary to assure successful project development 
• Researching candidate sites for project feasibility 

Business and Market Development 
• Analyzing possible competitors and partners 
• Tracking policy developments and opportunities to capitalize on target and new geographic markets 
• Developing customer-focused product and service presentations 
Track offerings of competitors in the Federal sector 
• Determining feasibility and cost savings for new value propositions 

Internal SunPower Requirements 
• Work with other SunPower departments, including Project Management, Product Marketing and Finance, to gather requested information for proposals. 
• Working with legal counsel to develop & negotiate contract terms for EPC agreements and Power Purchase Agreements 
• Work with Policy and Business Development groups to track regulatory environment as it impacts project economics and project implementation 
• Understanding technical capabilities of the full range of SunPower Products 


Education and Experience 
•Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or other relevant area of study 
•Seven to ten plus years experience in the energy industry 
•Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency or Construction sales experience to government

•Superior web research skills 
•Excellent oral and written presentation skills 
•Meticulous attention to detail 
•Entrepreneurial, self starter with a burning desire to learn and win 
•Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing time demands 
•Strong analytical skills. 
•Fluency with Microsoft Suite 
•Proposal writing experience 
•Familiarity with GIS desirable 
•Excellent interpersonal skills 
•Highly effective communicator with strong writing skills 
•Detail-oriented with strong time management skills 
•Effective at creating, summarizing, and presenting information logically for executive decision making 
•Knowledge of finance and business concepts 
•Understanding of utility regulatory environment desired, not required 
•Experience with environmental review processes desired, not required
