Farming in Protected Landscapes - Programme Administrator

We are looking for motivated and energetic individuals to work on an exciting new Programme - Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL).  Created by Defra as part of the Agricultural Transition Plan and managed by the South Devon AONB Partnership, it will help farmers, land managers and others to deliver projects in the farmed landscape under the themes of climate, nature, people and place. There is a potential to make a real difference to farm businesses throughout the Protected Landscape and you can play an important role.

These two separate roles are based within the small, friendly South Devon AONB team, based in Totnes with flexibility for home working. This is an exciting time to join the team as we scale up our support for farming, nature’s recovery, and nature-based solutions across the AONB.

Programme Administrator
The FiPL Programme Administrator will provide support for the smooth running of the FiPL Programme, liaising with the FiPL Officer and team. You’ll need to have relevant experience of carrying out financial management, monitoring and reporting, and will have responsibility for submitting monthly reports, processing claims, taking minutes at meetings, and generally helping to ensure the programme is delivered in a timely fashion.

About the Farming in Protected Landscapes Programme
Farming in Protected Landscapes is a three-year programme created by Defra and delivered
by AONB and National Park teams across the country. The objectives of the programme are
to support farmers and other land managers to deliver more for:

Climate – supporting the delivery of net zero through nature and nature-based solutions
to help communities mitigate and adapt to climate change.

Nature – supporting the delivery of the Nature Recovery Network and achieving the
Government’s commitment to protect 30% of land by 2030.

People – providing a natural health service that will improve the nation’s public health
and wellbeing through increased access to nature across all parts of society, as part of
our green recovery

Place – supporting these landscapes as centres of excellence and green innovation that
are flourishing places to live and work, each with a strong identity and cultural heritage,
and high recognition as attractive visitor destinations.
