Description

We are seeking an intern to assist with the expansion of our Resourceful Communities Program in Michigan.  The position will work out of our Sawyer, MI office.  Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Developing a low literacy guide to agricultural programs for farmers
  • Surveying southern Michigan farmer’s markets by phone and in person to determine who is involved and the produce being marketed
  • Survey community groups to determine which are reaching children and families that could encourage farmer’s market visits

The qualified candidate will have at least one year of college or technical school with an agricultural or farmer’s market background.  Strong communication skills both verbal and written required.  A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for travel in southern Michigan needed. (A driver’s background check will be conducted.)  This position will require some evening and weekend work.  Fluency in Spanish a plus.
