Internship Position at RCS
The Company: Resource Consulting Services (RCS) (www.resourceglobal.co.uk) is a globally operating advisory firm specialising in the extractive industries, conflict minerals, forestry and land investment sectors. RCS provides research, assessment and strategic advisory and training services for corporations, governments, development organisations and civil society. The Internship: RCS offers a full-time internship position of up to six months starting September 15th 2012 based in our office in Barcelona Candidates are expected to commit for six months, until mid-March 2013 when applying for this position. The successfully appointed candidate will report to the Senior Researchers
RCS is looking for a highly motivated researcher with previous experience in academic or business research to provide direct support to the RCS team on projects for the private sector, Governments and not for profit organisation. The position will entail a component of research and analysis work, as well as routine administrative tasks. The successful applicant must be flexible in adapting to the requirements of workload and its distribution between research and administrative tasks.
The ideal candidate will have excellent research, analytical and report writing skills. She or he will put meticulous attention to detail before delivering outputs to immediate supervisors. Fluency in English and Spanish is a requirement for this position, knowledge of other languages relevant to RCS’ areas of activity, such as French, Portuguese, Arabic Chinese or/and Russian is an advantage. An understanding of sustainability issues, corporate social responsibility and/or conflict and corruption issues in the natural resources sectors will be a valuable asset. The ideal candidate will have a background in law, economics, international relations, development studies or similar discipline and should have a very advanced ability to write in English. Writing samples will be required and will form a significant part of evaluating a successful candidate.

RCS offers a stipend of 900 euro/ month plus expenses incurred during the course of doing the work (terms and conditions apply) .
