Description

Executive Director opportunity is available with the Jackson Hole Wildlife Foundation, a non-profit organization in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  Our mission is to promote ways for our community to live compatibly with wildlife. This is accomplished through educational and on the ground projects. The Jackson Hole Wildlife Foundation is a grass-roots organization with a volunteer working board, volunteer network, and one paid staff member. Most projects are done in collaboration with other organizations including Grand Teton National Park, Bridger Teton National Forest, Wyoming Game and Fish Department, the National Elk Refuge and the Wyoming Department of Transportation. The philosophy behind our mission is to approach our work in a collaborative, creative, and cooperative manner.

Started in 1993, the Jackson Hole Wildlife Foundation is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization. Our programs include a multi-faceted road kill reduction campaign; removal of obsolete barbed wire fencing which poses a hazard to wildlife; power line marking to insure safe flight of swans, raptors, and other large birds; a cavity nesting box project to increase cavity nesting opportunities for species such as bluebirds; wildlife education projects for such things as wildlife “friendly” fencing; and, Bear Wise Jackson Hole, a collaborative program with Wyoming Game and Fish Department to prevent human/bear conflicts.

Essential Qualifications:
• Organizational/supervisory skills: ability to manage multiple programs/projects concurrently, as well as office management tasks; ability to work independently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills: ability to work with and collaborate with partners (other non profit organizations, stakeholders, government agencies, etc.)
• Fundraising development: donor relations and other fund development
• Ability to work with a Board of Directors and to coordinate volunteers
• Computer proficiency and database management skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Strong commitment to wildlife and/or familiarity with wildlife issues in Teton County, WY
• Experience with financial management in an organization
• Experience in writing grants, newsletters, news releases, etc.
