Founded in 1986, The Native Prairies Association of Texas (NPAT) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) land trust dedicated to the conservation, restoration, and appreciation of native prairies, savannas, and other grasslands in Texas. NPAT protects prairies through acquisition, partnerships, and conservation easements. NPAT provides informational resources and advice on native prairie restoration and promotes appreciation of the cultural heritage, native plant communities, and wildlife of Texas prairies. 

NPAT seeks a full-time executive director, reporting to the board of directors with regular interaction with the board president and executive committee. The executive director will be responsible for the hiring and management of professional staff and for oversight of organizational management, board relations, outreach and education, financial management, fund development and donor relations. Together with the board, the executive director provides vision and leadership for the organization, functions and systems. The executive director should have strong negotiating skills with knowledge of land acquisition along with the ability to develop innovative approaches to land conservation and stewardship. Fundraising skills should include grants, individual/corporate donor development, capital campaigns and fundraising events. The applicant must have the ability to lead the organization through land trust accreditation
