Description |
The main purpose of this role is to administer CIWEM’s diverse programme of conferences and events including annual conferences, one day conferences, seminars, training workshops, formal dinners, parliamentary receptions, and networking events. This includes effective and efficient administrative support as well as providing good customer service to delegates and other contacts. There is also the opportunity to manage a small portfolio of events once established in the role. About CIWEM The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) is a chartered professional body and registered charity. CIWEM exists to advance the science of water and environmental management for the public benefit. CIWEM has a network of branches, groups, panels and networks which facilitate engagement with a membership of around 10,000. Drawing on this international membership base, which includes both professionals and academics, the Institution produces extensive material aimed to inform and influence policy makers. CIWEM’s peer reviewed journals attract papers on water management, flooding and wider environmental concerns from academics and professionals based in the UK and abroad. Its magazine The Environment showcases news, topical editorial and commentary to a member and wider audience. Hours The post is a full time role, fixed-term 1 year. Normal working hours are 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday (inclusive). Some flexibility in working hours and location is permitted subject to prior agreement with your line manager and in accordance with CIWEM’s wider policies. The post holder may be required to work occasional extra hours according to the operational needs of the Institution. Location The position is based at CIWEM’s Office at 106-109 Saffron Hill, London EC1N 8QS. Remote working is appropriate to this role in accordance with CIWEM’s remote working policy.
