Description |
Do you want to be part of a growing movement to improve the lives of animals and people through the food we eat? We’re looking for a highly skilled and professional individual, fluent in Spanish and English, to take forward pioneering work with food companies and consumers in Spain. Factory farming is the biggest cause of animal cruelty on the planet. Some 40 billion animals a year are kept in cages, crates and sheds, pushed beyond their physical limits and resulting in massive global environmental damage. 98% of eggs sold in Spain come from hens kept in cages, unable to live natural lives. You could be part of changing this. The successful candidate will join our hugely successful Food Business Team in a new and exciting consultancy role, driving change by inspiring Spanish food industry stakeholders to enter our Good Egg Awards, set up to celebrate cage-free egg sourcing. So far our winners have ensured that more than 15 million hens every year are guaranteed a cage-free life. In this six-month fixed term role, you will be working alongside one of the world’s biggest food companies to raise awareness amongst Spanish consumers, encouraging them to set hens free by choosing free-range eggs. Based in Spain, with some travel to our head office in the UK, you will be a natural communicator and negotiator and comfortable working on your own or as part of a small team. You will have a positive, confident and professional approach, able to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external contacts including journalists and food industry representatives. Educated to degree level, preferably in a marketing, business, communications or related field, you will have good IT and presentation skills. Other European languages in addition to English and Spanish are an advantage. Empathy with the goals of Compassion in World Farming is essential.
