If you have the experience, passion and ambition, apply today. As Ethics Specialist, your role will manage the People side of Ted’s ethics and sustainability programme. This is split between two areas; 90% of this role will lead on the delivery of our supply chain ethics programme and 10% will support on the implementation of Ted’s community and charity programme. Main responsibilities • Lead on the global ethics roadmap and engage Ted’s wider teams on ethical issues • Work with your team (including one direct report) to manage and maintain supplier profiles, audit results, improvement plans and platforms such as SEDEX and OAR • Manage the operational execution of ethical programmes for specific territories including assessing audit reports, creating action plans and rating first tier suppliers • Oversee ethical data collection and management including analyst of sourcing territories, non-compliances, severity, rate of occurrence, remediation actions • Deliver monthly internal reporting and regular briefings • Work with Sourcing and Production teams to ensure prospective new suppliers’ meet Ted’s expectations • Formulate action plans with defined objectives, targets and responsibilities to support agreed upon ethical trade and sustainability focus area and to ensure they are implemented efficiently and effectively • Ensure internal controls, processes and measurement systems are in place to support ethical efforts • Identify areas for strategic programmes and partnership, piloting and evaluating the success of approaches and developing coordinated rollout plans • Manage Ted’s relationships and contributions towards worker rights multi-stakeholder initiatives and working groups • Work closely with the Communications teams on ethical and sustainability issues, implement communication strategies to publish the company’s ethical trade efforts and promote broad awareness of initiatives both internally and externally • Lead on the development and implementation of Ted’s human rights and worker rights policies • Lead on Modern Slavery Act delivery requirements to include writing of statement, develop and implement improvement actions, chair internal cross-departmental Modern Slavery Working group and training of internal teams • Visiting and assess factories (including oversees travel) to maintain and develop supplier relationships • Develop and deliver impactful, relevant training to Ted employees and suppliers; including design and delivery of training, toolkits and webinars. • Support the implementation of Ted’s communities programme across the wider business • Support the management of Ted’s charity and volunteering partnerships Tools of the Trade… Proven experience navigating supply chains; suppliers, factories and subcontractors Working knowledge of ethical matters particularly in fashion production Previous experience in the retail ethical trade sector Proven experience of factory auditing and remediation processes (e.g. SMETA, BSCI, SA8000) Experience working with SEDEX database Strong experience using Microsoft including Excel, Word and Powerpoint Excellent presentation skills, with the confidence to present at board level and to external stakeholders Excellent writing and editing skills Good understanding of cultural and social nuances and sensitivities needed to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across the world.
