Description

The North Coast is a perfect place to get away from it all and refresh body and soul. Imagine what it will be like working here at our incredible properties – Downhill Demesne, Hezlett House and Portstewart Strand. But keeping the great outdoors great is no small feat, and helping more and more people to enjoy it is one of our big challenges. And if anyone loves a big challenge, it’s you. As well as assisting the Site Manager in the practical care and management of the landscape, habitats and wildlife here, you’ll share our properties’ stories with all sorts of visitors and supporters – helping us to reach our ambitious visitor engagement targets. You’ll also get involved with the local community, organising activities and events that will get people outdoors and closer to nature. That could be anything from a guided walk to an educational workshop to a special outdoor event.

About you
Like everyone here, you love the outdoors. And you’ll love the chance to help more and more people get out there and get active. We’d like you to have proven experience in countryside management or conservation. If you’ve lots of practical experience but no formal qualifications, we’d still like to hear from you. You’ll also have experience in community involvement activities and working with volunteers. Along with a full UK driving licence, you’ll ideally have pesticide spraying and chainsaw licences too. If you have specialist knowledge in UK native plants, that’s even better. Above all, you’ll enjoy sharing your passion and knowledge with visitors, making sure that they have a fantastic outdoor experience. You’ll also need to be happy working the occasional weekend or Bank Holiday
