Description

Would you like to take on a vital new role managing a newly restructured land management team?

Based in our agricultural office at Pond Farm, the Estate Manager will bring together the newly formed team of 10 people and lead them on the task of managing a proportion (c4,000 hectares) of our Countryside Estate.

Although the exact roles within the new Estate Team are under consultation, we can envisage how it is likely to function and how each of the roles will contribute to its operation.  The Estate Manager will need to proactively manage the change process, motivating and enthusing the newly formed team and guiding them through what may be a challenging time.  The Estate Manager has a pivotal role in its success and we are building a support structure to facilitate a positive outcome.

If you are a leader by example, but with the ability to delegate and then support staff, have a clear understanding of methods of planning work programmes, project management, budget controls and staff and volunteer management together with excellent verbal and written communication skills, a professional attitude with a high level of commitment and enthusiasm, a resourceful, resilient, reliable, flexible and adaptable nature and excellent knowledge of nature conservation in England including experience of environmental and wildlife issues at local, regional and national levels; experience of dealing with statutory bodies involved in land management and a detailed understanding of conservation based management plans, please go to our website to read the full job profile.

Please apply using the Application Form provided on our website and link your skills and experience to the job role.  Applications should be sent to catherine.roberts@surreywt.org.uk  by the closing date: Midday Friday 24th February 2017; Interviews: 6th/7th March 2017
