ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Water Producer strategy has been developed through several projects and initiatives along the Atlantic Forest and Central Savannas Conservation Program (AFCSCP) territory and across Latin America. The Espírito Santo Water Fund Conservation Practitioner leads, develops, manages and advances conservation projects, plans, policy and methods for the Water Funds Strategy in Espirito Santo State for the AFCSCP. This may include one or more of the following functions:

  • Manages and implements Water Funds projects in Espirito Santo State.
  • Work with strategic partners to successfully implement multi-stakeholders projects, such as local NGOs, municipal and state government and watershed committees.
  • Manages project budgets and reports.
  • Work with partners on local communities and with landowners on engagement processes, land use plan design and call for proposals design.
  • Elaborate terms of reference, deal with contractors and manage contracts execution..
  • Implements Water Producer monitoring protocol (water/biodiversity/socio-economic), working closely with the science team and monitor project implementation.
  • Supports the Water Producer Coordinator in the relationship between the Water Producer strategy and the Carbon, Infrastructure and Conservation themes and the Latin America Water Funds Platform.
  • Supports the Water Producer Coordinator on his/her efforts to fund-raise for the strategy and geography of work.
  • Fosters cross-site learning among conservation community.
  • Supplies the Conservation and Science team with project information.
  • Participate in capacity building and training initiatives related to the upscale of the water producer strategy.
  • Participate and represent TNC in local networks and meetings.
