Salary Range:
$52,914 per annum. 40 hours per week.
Summary of Function:
To plan, develop, monitor, and implement habitat creation, restoration, and monitoring projects. To assist Senior Project Manager with securing project approvals and preparing work plans. Working safely is a condition of employment.
Knowledge:
Post secondary education in biology or related environmental science program;
5 years of experience in environmental projects and construction site supervision;
Knowledge of terrestrial and aquatic ecology, habitat restoration, fish and wildlife management;
Knowledge of legislation, policies and procedures relevant to habitat creation and restoration projects;
Excellent analytical and communication skills;
Class A (R) Ontario Driver's License an asset.
Example of Tasks:
Perform the following tasks under general supervision.
1. Design, manage, and implement habitat creation and restoration projects with assistance from other Restoration Services Staff. 2. Design, coordinate and manage monitoring and wildlife management programs and initiatives with others. 3. Coordinate and supervise job sites for the implementation of habitat creation and restoration projects. 4. Operate and maintain general equipment, construction equipment and biological sampling equipment. 5. Provide project management, including project design and work plan development, budget preparation, cost control and site supervision. 6. Maintain effective liaison with other agencies, community groups, and the general public. 7. Collect, analyze and interpret environmental information and prepare technical reports and Authority communications project approvals, preparing management plans, and developing 8. Hire, supervise, and evaluate the performance of staff. 9. Prepare and coordinate proposals for partnership agreements and non-traditional sources of funding to assist in achieving mutual objectives
