Chevron Products Company is accepting online applications for the position of Environmental Team Leader located in Richmond, California through April 3, 2009.

Overview

The Environmental Team Leader has general responsibility and functions at a high level to supervise an environmental team who provides support for air, water, and/or waste matters (compliance, permitting and advocacy). The Environmental Team Leader position consists of individual, supervisor, and management contributions.
Position Details: Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for compliance requirements in assigned area of responsibility for the refinery and translates those into specific actions and standards
• Implement and maintain monitoring systems, and records, to ensure that all permit requirements are met.
• Ability to communicate with and make presentations to Chevron management, regulatory agencies and other stakeholders
• Obtains refinery environmental permits as required.
• Strong advocate of environmental actions pending legislative review and approval process.
• Provides functional input on issues such as projects, budget management, best practices, emerging technologies, records management, etc.
• Provides counsel and support for environmental matters for capital projects and the refinery business plan.
• Advise business unit representatives on environmental compliance concerns.
• Coaches, mentors, and establishes clear expectations and performance standards for employees.
• Keeps abreast of environmental technology and regulations to ensure options for environmental stewardship and achieving the refinery business plan are considered.
• Ensures that environmental specialists are well trained in environmental practices and principles.
• Represent Chevron at local trade associations relating to environmental matters (i.e., WSPA.)
• Leads or participates in an Environmental Business Improvement Network (BIN) for Global Refining.
• Facilitates regular updates to refinery management team regarding environmental challenges.
• Manages compliance tasks assigned to the environmental organization.
• Ability to deliver results and drive change; consistently achieves budget, milestone and scorecard commitments.

Required (Basic) Qualifications

• Three plus years of related environmental experience working in a refinery
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Power Point
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong technical knowledge of environmental compliance and permitting

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Relocation Options:

Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
