ERG is seeking versatile entry-level environmental scientists and engineers to work on a variety of projects in our Morrisville (Research Triangle Park), North Carolina office. Successful candidates will work in teams to support projects related to one or more of the following: determining and characterizing sources of air pollutant emissions from a variety of industrial processes; quantifying emissions of greenhouse gases, hazardous air pollutants, volatile organic compounds and particulates; determining technical feasibility, costs, and environmental impacts of emissions control equipment and strategies to reduce air emissions from industrial and mobile sources; analyzing air quality impacts of renewable energy and energy efficiency measures, and providing technical and outreach support to voluntary clean energy and greenhouse gas reduction programs; planning and developing air emission inventories for emission sources at national or regional scales; supporting development of federal air emissions regulations for a wide range of industries; analyzing and characterizing ambient air pollution measurements. The Research Triangle Park area is located between Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill; an area known for relatively low cost of living, a highly educated population, and cultural and recreational opportunities. Preferred candidates for employment will have: a bachelors or masters degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, environmental science, environmental management, atmospheric sciences, or comparable technical discipline; 0 to 5 years experience; excellent analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills; strong spreadsheet and database skills; the ability to work well in teams and to meet deadlines in a multi-tasking environment; and a commitment to provide quality services. A minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4 point scale, or equivalent, is required.
