The Environmental Protection Program Assistant Director will support the program´s Director in overseeing and coordinating the implementation of the program´s work plan. S/he will also be directly responsible for writing and editing communication materials to fulfill the program’s contractual reporting obligations to USAID, including monthly bulletins, quarterly, annual and final reports. S/he will work closely with project partners and TNC personnel to facilitate and monitor the program impacts and progress in achieving outcomes. Responsibilities will include documentation management of project performance; coordinating the development of communication material, web content and success stories. S/he will also be the primary liaison to USAID/DR communications personnel and will work closely with them, as well as with the Environment Ministry and other partners to coordinate media relations. S/he will also oversee the compliance with branding requirements by all products developed by the Program. 

The EPP Assistant Director will dedicate 100% of his/her time to USAID/The Nature Conservancy’s Environmental Protection Program.  S/he may be responsible for developing operational guidelines to ensure efficient management of information in the Environmental Protection Program and compliance with relevant regulations. S/he may coordinate trainings/meetings and document activities, strategies and lessons learned as appropriate. S/he may be responsible for the implementation of specific activities within the program work-plan that fall under his/her area of expertise. Duties may require overseeing the design and production of written materials and working with freelance writers, graphic designers, photographers, printers and other vendors and staff as necessary. This position works under the supervision of the Environmental Protection Program Director.
