Environmental Project Officer

Salary: £27.5K

The Environmental Project Officer will have day to day responsibility for measuring, monitoring and reducing SuperGroup’s key environmental impacts – carbon emissions, packaging and waste.  They will need demonstrable abilities to manage environmental KPIs and the core skills to facilitate environmental change in different departments including the Superdry European portfolio.  The role will suit a graduate with, for example, two years experience in consultancy or industry.

Key responsibilities

• Measure and monitor Group carbon emissions and prepare an annual carbon footprint
• Deliver strategic carbon emissions reductions under direction from the Corporate Responsibility Manager
• Measure and monitor Group packaging impacts in line with the UK Packaging Regulations
• Measure and monitor Group waste volumes and deliver improvements in recycling
• Deliver a range of other environmental projects within the Group e.g. textile recycling programme, product sustainability improvements
• Motivate, communicate and engage with other employees to deliver environmental change within the business
• Assist on other Corporate Responsibility projects e.g. ethical trading, community projects; plus some departmental administrative duties

Skills/experience

• Two years experience in an environmental role – either industry or consultancy
• Carbon footprinting technical capability
• Experience delivering organisational carbon emissions reductions
• Built environment energy management knowledge
• Self-starter mentality
• A personal desire to improve environmental sustainability within business
• Good communication and presentations skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate
• Adaptable
