My client, a leader in the provision of mining and exploration services is currently seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join their team in Pretoria.

 

Job Purpose

To provide high level project management and specialized technical

input to existing projects.

Project management of large-scale technical studies, environmental

and remediation projects and programs.

The preparation of EIAs of proposed mining and infrastructure

projects.

Environmental site assessments where necessary.

It will also involve technical mentoring and coaching of junior staff.

 

Experience/Tasks

•Manage multiple projects with a project management approach, consistency across projects, ensuring quality of output.

• Util izing project management tools to keep abreast of the scope, budget and timeframe of each project and to make sure project details are updated on a daily basis.

• Active liaison with specialists, environmental clients, government officials and subcontractors.

• Report writing, evaluate reports and verification of data input received from relevant others, in concurrence with Environmental manager HOD.

• Design field investigations, organise data interpretation, evaluate and design remedial actions and report preparation

• Design, review and reporting of environmental investigations for environmental impact assessments

• Develop environmental management plans and monitor programs and progress

• Environmental legislation understanding and obtaining regulatory project approvals

• In conjunction with MT staff, Coordinate public participation processes where relevant

 

Minimum Requirements/Attributes

• Relevant post graduate qualification.

• Minimum of 7 years experience within the environmental field

• Very good understanding of EIA processes within various industries, with sound experience in the mining sector

• Excellent technical ability

• Attention to detail

• Strong review and report writing skills

• Excellent Project Management

• Good Planning & Implementation

• Strong Interpersonal Skills

• Good Mentoring and coaching skills
