GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Environmental Programs Coordinator will work on all aspects of indoor and outdoor environmental concerns relating to the American Lung Association’s mission.  This includes grant writing, budgeting, timelines, project completion, written reports, and project evaluation.

 

 

REPORTING AND RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to the Manager of Environmental Programs
  • Interacts/coordinates with other Environmental Coordinators and plays key role in project teams

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Project Coordinator for Environmental Programs.
  • Provide technical support in Environmental Projects relating to Indoor Air and Outdoor air.
  • Plan and participate in conferences, meetings, workshops, events, etc. relating to Environmental Projects.
  • Have ability to interpret and discuss research and scientific data appropriate to a professional in the environmental area.
  • Expand knowledge on computer and statistical skills

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Biology, Chemistry or related health science
  • Professional appearance and ability to present oral discussions, speeches, press conferences, etc.  
  • Demonstrated success in planning, hosting, and managing events
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Effective use of partners stakeholders in performing job functions
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize people, time, materials and to work independently
  • Positive attitude and dependability
  • Superb organizational skill and attention to detail
  • Computer literate, knowledge of Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold valid driver’s license and be able to drive vehicles of varying sizes, including vans and small trucks, throughout Illinois
  • Must carry and maintain private automobile insurance
  • Abstain from use of tobacco in any form
  • Necessary to work evenings and weekends on an as needed basis
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs (event supplies)
