AECOM's Design + Planning practice offers a holistic approach to guide responsible and productive use of the land. Our practice includes design, master planning, environmental and ecological planning, strategic planning and economic development. We integrate these areas of expertise on projects of all scales and contexts. Some of our clients are private developers creating communities or world-class destinations. Others are national and local governments seeking to manage their natural and cultural resources. Others are agencies empowered to create amenities like parks or to regenerate communities, cities, regions.
The ideal candidate will have an environmental-based education and experience working with federal, state and local agencies as well as utility industry clients, however, a diverse skill set and the willingness to work on a wide variety of projects is extremely important to our culture.
This position will work on a variety of projects including, but not limited to: environmental planning generation, transmission, distribution, and renewable energy projects. Completing tasks such as siting and routing, environmental permitting, and community involvement on a variety of projects are done on a daily basis. Candidates should have an understanding and the ability to prepare NEPA documents, land use plans, field research, biological, and cultural properties as they may relate to our projects. Experience implementing public involvement plans and/or managing public and draft document comments is a bonus. Recent writing samples and a minimum of three references should be submitted with a resume.
Candidates should have experience working with a variety of contract types. Strong organizational and analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in both a team and individual environment are a must. An undergraduate degree in environmental science, natural resource or social sciences or related field and 8 to 12 years of experience is required for this position.
