Description
So do we!  GHD has grown to over 60 people in the South Island and we’re here to stay.
GHD is an international professional services firm.  Our people deliver innovative solutions by combining technical skill and experience with an understanding of our clients' objectives and aspirations.  We employ over 6,500 people in an integrated network of offices throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East, the Americas and the United Kingdom serving the global market sectors of Infrastructure, Mining & Industry, Defence, Transport, Property & Buildings and Environment sectors.
Recognised in February this year as one of New Zealand’s best workplaces (unlimited/JRA Best Places to Work survey), GHD is a values based organisation, dedicated to providing a great place to work.  We offer a lifestyle and family friendly culture and opportunities to develop your personal and professional skills through our GHD Business School.
We are entering an exciting phase right now and require an experienced Environmental Planner to join our small team ideally based in Timaru, however we’ll also consider a Christchurch base for the right person.  You’ll have worked mainly within the Water or Agriculture area, but you have the ability to do other district planning related work when required.
Fronting with the client is something you enjoy, along with rolling up your sleeves and working on a variety of diverse projects.  You’ll have the opportunity to get your teeth into managing a vast number of projects of varying size and type at anyone time (i.e. small farm damns to high level nitrate and level contamination issues), so your solid knowledge of the RMA, supported by strong technical and project coordination skills will come into play on a daily basis!
We’d expect that you come qualified in either a Resource Management or Environmental Science Degree, and have demonstrated process and procedure skills around the RMA and associated legal issues.  Down to earth, pragmatic and mature in nature, you’ll have the confidence to build relationships and converse with anyone.  If you love the South and have a passion to preserve it then give us a call for a confidential chat.
To apply, just visit our website to view our opportunities www.ghd.co.nz/designyourfuture or for an informal and confidential chat call Tania McGovern on 09 261 1886.
