We are a multi-disciplinary environmental management and design consultancy based in Northern NSW with offices in Lennox Head and Coffs Harbour. Our principle services are environmental planning and assessment, ecology, civil and environmental engineering and urban design. We are looking for a suitably qualified, experienced and highly-motivated Environmental Planner to join our team of professionals in a full-time, permanent position in our Coffs Harbour office.

The role will involve:  
  • Working with a team of experienced environmental scientists, ecologists, planners and engineers in the management and delivery of a wide range of environmental assessment and design projects.
  • Provision of accurate planning and environmental advice for a variety of multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Managing small environmental assessment projects such as review of environmental factors, environmental impact assessments and management plans - including proposal preparation, budget monitoring, work planning and client liaison.
  • Conducting field studies and desktop assessments.
  • Analysing scientific results and interpreting environmental / planning legislation. 
Selection Criteria:
  • Tertiary qualification in environmental planning, environmental science or related discipline, from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in a similar role, with preference given to experience working in a consulting environment.
  • Understanding of managing projects including budgets and work programs.
  • Knowledge of relevant state and commonwealth planning and environmental legislation.
  • Diverse knowledge of a range of environmental disciplines, including but not limited to water quality, soils and contaminated site assessment, ecological (incl heritage), bushfire and noise assessments.
  • Ability to write clear, concise and accurate technical reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability in conveying technical information to clients and colleagues.
  • Competence working with Microsoft Office and GIS mapping software.
  • A sound understanding and commitment to sustainability principles.
  • A current drivers' licence.
